A little bit shorter… but not sunnier day
We headed to Kunsthistorisches (Arts museum) museum today, and man o man was that a big museum. We were given 2 hours to go explore and see what we wanted, and that wasn’t even enough time. By the next hour we were worn out and the paintings started to look the same. All I wanted to see were mummies and Egyptian things, saved the best part for last Happy happy joy, hahaThe huge statue as you walk up the stairs to start your journey through timeBaby statue head with big ears… this was my breaking pointSo was he…MUMMIESSo anyways, after the lovely view of old school art, side note ( I appreciate art, but I was getting very bored of art too by that point), we were going to head to the Hofsburg palace museum. As some of you may know I did a presentation on the famous ruling monarchy the Habsburgs before we left and their palaces, so this was exciting to get to walk through some of the rooms and actually see it for myself. Below are just some of the Hofsburgs imperial plates and things ( I would have provided more pictures of the Sissi museum and imperial apartments, but they wouldn’t let you use your camera). In between the Kunsthistorisches building and the Hofsburg palace, is about a 5- 10 minute walk. Well, it had started pouring while in the Kunsthistorisches building, and we had thought it let up a bit so we could head to the Hofsburg, wrong. It started pouring even harder the second we stepped out and their was no turning back. Lets just say by the time we got to the Hofsburg palace, we were all soaking wet, as well as our shoes, bags, umbrellas were broken and done for, and the rain was slowing down. Lucky to the people who decided to wait a bit longer for the rain to stop because they came in dry. What I had for lunch: Wiener Schnitzel- deep fried meat- we had turkey and I split it with a friend Cookies and Carmel gelato ice creamOnce again it is pouring outside. Glad we made it back to the hostel in time… don’t know about the other half of the group
