Stuck in Warsaw…another world

From the moment I stepped off the plane in Chicago and entered into the International world, I knew this was going to be something different. Different languages were being spoken all around me and people would speak English in a native tongue. My world would be different from here on out. I got to sit next to a very nice young man who was going to be in Poland for the next year doing study abroad, but he knew Poland and got to start school in October! (lucky duck). but he spoke English great and was a very nice person to chat to and I do have to say he didn’t smell bad either. Winking smile The ride was smooth and actually longer than I had imagined. Before I knew it we were departing in Warsaw, Poland. Just a 9 hours flight. Way different from my 8-10 hour drives I have been doing, just to different states.

As I’m sitting here in Warsaw airport, I realized its not that much different. The airport is the same, I little cleaner and nicer than most, and orange is their accent color. I look around and see people going about their day and just leisurely getting to their destination. There is no rushing in this country. Very relaxed and calm.

As of right now… my stupid phone is not hooked up to international right now, which really made me mad. Also clearing customs again, and getting your passport stamped and going through security once again after getting off the plane. Don’t understand that part, seeing as how we had been on a plane for 9 hours and no way of bringing in anything that they hadn’t already checked before our flight. But to each his own.

Well, I shall soak up what I can while I am here in Poland and see what we can find. Luckily, I’m glad I have my friend Jill here by my side. Otherwise I would have broke down already and wanted to go home. Winking smile

Next time I write I shall be in Vienna!!! Comfortably in the hostel and with a shower… ha
