And then there were 3

Slow train verses fast train, trains verses metros, nice verses bad seats. These describe my last two days of traveling. All I can say is, for those wanting to travel all over Europe don’t forget to put into account travel time, and how much of a hassle it may be. Arriving in Milan took longer than we expected because we had gotten on the slow train(free verses money), then we had to get on the metro, which was just like old times and easy to figure out, but then finding our hostel amongst the outskirts of Milan, not so exciting in the hot melting sun. Luckily we found our hostel (Ostellolinda hostel, cheap 20euros a night, free internet(and good), sheets included, a little bit in a ghetto part of Milan) , and it was very cute, and quaint, good enough for a night’s stay in Milan, then we headed into the center of town to find food to eat and of course gelato. Although we didn’t have as much time as we had planned in Milan, I can say I enjoyed my short stay, and maybe will have the chance for a day trip in the future to see the famous “Last Supper” by Da Vinci. And then there were 3. Amy, Jill, and I have made it on our own, to our hostel. What a journey that was, I have a feeling the other two will not be as difficult to find. Turns out as soon as we arrived in Florence, many people had cancelled trains to Pisa, because a strike was going on. (WARNING: strikes tend to happen frequently but only last 1-2 days and most cities will let you know, but it doesn’t help those who just arrive in the city to find that out).Anyways, we ended up meeting some very nice people from Ireland, looking for the same bus station as us, and we got on the bus to head to our hostel, little did we know it was farther out that we had imagined and took an hour to get to it, plus it didn’t help that we couldn’t speak Italian and the stops were hard to understand. Luckily, there was a big group of us that were on the bus and we all figured it out together. We are lucky to have not been along too much on the journey and have people to help us out.First thing we did as soon as we got checked in and put our bags down was find food and gelato. Yummy. Had zucchini pizza and some very delicious gelato.DSCN3596DSCN3597Blew my mind and I ended up with my first food baby of the trip, good food, and now time to relax, for we site see tomorrow!
